This is a strange one.
Last night, Krad - who is a pretty respected player, all things considered - came out and called PR a cheater. If you don’t know who PR is, don’t worry. It’s not some new acronym the whippersnappers have cooked up, he’s a MOUZ NXT player.
If you go to the x.com thread linked above, you’ll see some very suspicious clips. Look, we’re not one for calling cheats easily—not unless we’re having a really bad game and the enemies just happen to be German—but these are pretty convincing.
PR is looking down at what one imagines to be his phone, which might have a radar on it. From what we gather, this isn’t entirely uncommon. It might be a bit of a self-report if that was your first thought, mind you.
On one of the clips, he seems to look down at it while planting the bomb before getting off and swinging the angle where one player is about to come out. Very weird.
However… it’s not that simple, and you probably shouldn’t jump to conclusions; even if that’s exactly what we’ve been trying to lead you to.
The MOUZ NXT coach defended his player by telling the world he had a nervous tic that included spamming the CAPS LOCK button, which is something that doesn’t sound wholly unfamiliar. The coach also points out that if he did use it for info, he probably wouldn’t have defused where he could be seen.
Which is… yeah, honestly. Fair enough.
We don’t really know what to think, but it’s usually best to err on the side of caution with these situations and give the kid the benefit of the doubt.
It’d be better to be naive and assume he wasn’t cheating than cruel for bullying a guy with a nervous tic, after all.
