IEM Chengdu Recap
We know Chengdu is probably passing you by. Time zones are a real bummer.
But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with everything worth knowing about, as usual.
For starters, Astralis is looking sharper than ever. Ok, maybe not 4-time-major-winner ever, but pretty impressive considering the recent changes. It seems IGL device is the way to go. Who would’ve thought?
The Danish squad cruised through Group B, sweeping the likes of Steel Helmet, FaZe, and Virtus.pro. Shoutout to stavn for channeling his inner donk and putting up a 1.61 rating performance across 5 maps.
After a disappointing RMR showing for Liquid, the team has bounced back in Chengdu, securing a quarter-final spot with victories against G2, and, most importantly, Heroic. Ice cold cadiaN.
While NA fans rejoice, BR fans can’t catch a break.
FURIA’s poor form continues, with the squad only managing to secure a win versus Lynn Vision. After two close BO3s versus MOUZ and Heroic, it seems FURIA are missing that X factor to take them over the edge. Just announce biguzera already, please.
Following those stacked Major Playoffs, we thought it couldn’t get any better. Well, it probably can’t, but Chengdu comes pretty close.
MOUZ and Astralis are set to take on the winners of Virtus.pro versus G2 and Liquid versus FaZe, respectively. Not bad, huh?
