0-2 matchups: PGL Cluj-Napoca
And so, with Imperial’s male team now being ranked higher than their female team, the Valkryies’ presence in tier one events may have come to a close after they’ve gone 0-3 at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
Well, just until they get to farm another Impact event, anyway.
It’s been a… run. It began with a hopeful showing on Ancient against NAVI, but everything after that has been rather unfortunate and the most (only) entertaining part of their games was seeing how many more kills twenty3 would get than the rest of her team.
Their time in tier one came to an end in abysmal fashion. If you thought making BIG look good at Katowice was bad enough, just wait until you realise they got battered by Complexity. Yes, the same Complexity that convincingly lost 10 maps in a row prior to that game.
A drubbing in which nicx finally got to play players around his level, he had a blinder on the first map with a 2.10 rating, and there’s definitely a joke in there somewhere about the use of the term “blinder” - but we’ve had enough fun already.
The other stinker - sorry, 0-2 game - was fought between SAW and FlyQuest. Given that SAW’s team has recently fallen apart (again), the fact that they won this game is probably quite embarrassing for FlyQuest.
The Aussies put up a fight, they actually won a map unlike most other games they play, but in the end it was the might of story and Shr that won the series for the Portuguese.
Probably makes it a bit of shame that Shr is one of the players they’re set to lose then.
Honestly, we’re tired of talking about FlyQuest, even INS isn’t particularly fun to watch anymore and they lost a lot of their soul once AliStair lost his place on the team.
If only the rest of the team could lose their place, then we’d never have to talk about them again.
Hopefully.
