Here we go again, some guy leaked that FURIA is about to make changes, what clown is it this time? Oh, it was one of the owners. Right.

I think we can all agree that FURIA hasn’t been having a great time of it recently, and going out of Chengdu the way they did must’ve been the straw that broke the camel's back. FURIA’s co-owner Akkari came out in immediate response saying FURIA requires change, and that change will happen in the short-term.

We should say, that isn’t the full story. The whole statement gets into the decision-making behind making changes, but it’s basically all that matters from it.

This isn’t the first time in FURIA’s poor run of form that Akkari’s come out and said anything.

He’s previously stated they were “looking for the best solution” after several poor qualifier runs earlier this year. Despite that, this is the first talk of real changes coming to the roster.

Thanks to arT and FalleN’s public leadership struggle, it’s been a turbulent time on FURIA since the current roster’s inception. Which means we were all expecting changes anyway, the question now is… what changes?

Obviously, arT’s been under fire for a while, but he’s also intertwined with the FURIA brand. His style of Counter-Strike defines FURIA. On the other side of the coin, letting FalleN go is always expensive, if for no other reason than the sheer sponsors his celebrity status brings.

Yet surely one of them has to go.

Replacing your 5th man might work for FaZe, but not for a team that has as many structural issues as FURIA does.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long, when asked for comment by HLTV, Akkari said there’d be “further info in the coming days.” That sounds to us like soon™
