BLAST Open London 2025 recap
Yeah, we’re thinking FaZe might be back.
Alright, it’s a little early to tell, but we’ve seen plenty of absolute BS that only FaZe are capable of pulling off already, and that’s all that we need to see.
broky is doing straight up freaky things. Things that shouldn’t be possible, that nobody else would even try, that can only be pulled off when you don’t have any hoots left to give. Look at this, for crying out loud.
Good timing for one TLDR writer, who had just decided to publicly put his neck on the line for broky on HLTV. He’s been on timeout for even conversing with them, though.
Maybe broky really is The Guy after all. They haven’t even needed jcobbb to do anything special; it turns out just not being a vibe sink was enough to make FaZe magic again.
We’re saying all this off the back of them beating ECSTATIC and NAVI, by the way. In case you were worried we weren’t being absurdly reactionary.
Speaking of NAVI, they lost to M80 to go out in dismal fashion. The vibes are so, so, so off. When jL has to get away because he can’t bring them up, it can’t be good.
FURIA’s newest dawn is showing signs of not being a false one for once, too. After a very encouraging showing in Cologne, they’ve only gone on to overpower Spirit in two maps to go straight through to the finals in London.
KSCERATO has been cooking, and new boy molodoy was electric in the win against Spirit. They won even without donk having an off day, too. He went 51-34, which would be an absolutely ridiculous scoreline for any other player in the world who lost 0-2.
Vitality and MOUZ moved through to face FaZe and FURIA, respectively, in the upper bracket final, and while it wasn’t all easy, it’s boring to talk about them winning. Let’s talk about someone else.
Liquid got curbstomped by G2, failing to get 13 rounds in both maps combined, but did redeem themselves somewhat by toppling the giants of… Imperial. They got smacked by Spirit, obviously.
Legacy put up a fight against FURIA, but also put up a similar fight against FlyQuest. Maybe FlyQuest are just as good as FURIA?
They’re not. They got goobed by G2. We had you going there for a sec.
fnatic might have gotten big dogged by NAVI, but they roared back with four maps back-to-back to put CYPHER one game away from playing in front of his home crowd. He was sensational against ECSTATIC, but… look, we’re not gonna draw too much from that.
They did beat GamerLegion, which is a big result.
fnatic will play M80 for a spot in London - UK’s second (player) in command vs NA’s last stand - and Spirit will play G2. That one doesn’t need an introduction.
Mildly lopsided group quality, it seems.
