EU RMR Closed Qualifiers
Who would’ve guessed that breaking the rules comes with consequences?
The RMRs have barely begun, and PARIVISION have been disqualified after a Valve-banned coach was spotted in their game room.
Valve’s rulebook states that, during the RMR CQs, “no team staff, including the coach, may be physically or virtually present or communicate with the players at any time during the match”.
It looks like PARIVISION missed the memo – or just ignored it entirely.
Wondering how they got caught? Well, the org itself posted a video that clearly showed the staff member in the room with the team. You can’t make this stuff up.
Thanks to the drama, KOI, Monte, and BLEED are back in the race for an RMR spot, as the winner of KOI vs. Monte will face BLEED for the final slot.
On a brighter note, the Czechs will be storming China. Not literally, we hope.
SINNERS, ECLOT, and UNiTY, who all field Czech cores, are set to battle for a Major spot. Amidst all this Czech excitement, there’s one player we have to highlight. Young up-and-coming talent oskar delivered a scorching 2.03 rating across 4 maps to clinch SINNERS’ trip to China. He’s still got it.
On the flip side, the only thing Major about ENCE was the scale of their disappointment.
They failed to qualify after losses to KOI, UNiTY, and Monte. This marks the first time the org will miss a Major since FACEIT London 2018. Changes are desperately needed.
