Heroic go 1-3 in Copenhagen
HEROIC, come on bud, we know you’re better than this.
We all wanted you to get over your toxic exes and come out on top. Which, in a way HEROIC did as they outlasted both cadiaN, jabbi, and stavn. But going out 1-3 in groups, especially after beating FaZe in a BO1, is unforgivable.
Losing to coL and VP in BO1s, could be forgiven. Although, you have to be able to beat both if you dream of being a contender. But losing to paiN in a BO3 AND getting 2-0’d? It’s time to sack the team.
The maps were largely uncompetitive, HEROIC lost their CT-side on Nuke and got stomped when they switched sides. Mirage was even worse, they got 12-0’d on their T-side and mounted a faux-comeback to make it seem respectable at 13-9.
We can talk about who was at fault and point fingers at nicodooz, kyxsan, sjuush, or all of them really. But for the Danes going to Royal Arena, that doesn’t change anything.
One of two Danish cores left at the Major went out, and the other one, ECSTATIC couldn’t hold on either.
ECSTATIC joins HEROIC in the 1-3 pool, but unlike HEROIC, ECSTATIC can be proud of themselves.
Going past the last stage was more than we expected of this young squad, and losses to MOUZ, C9 and G2 are respectable. It’s a shame that Danish CS is at its most washed now that there’s actually a Major in Denmark. But at least Karrigan and HooXi are left, and we know they’ll put on a show for the crowd.
It also means we won’t get the vintage-biased Royal Arena crowd anymore. Even if that’s just because Astralis couldn’t qualify for a loan, let alone the Major.
