NA RMR Recap
NA might be in trouble, lads and lasses.
Well, obviously - but it’s being laid bare here in Monterrey, Mexico. Actually, we’re not in Mexico. We would like to be, though.
So would NRG.
Of the eight teams already eliminated from contention in the Americas RMR, five of them are NA teams. Nouns, who in fairness played FURIA and Legacy, Elevate, BOSS - who lost to Complexity and Liquid, which doesn’t seem like their fault - NRG (who were embarrassingly bad) and Wildcard.
Wildcard at least did NA proud, in that their reaction to losing was to throw water at an opposition player.
We know NA is good at throwing, but that’s taking the Mickey.
We sort of glossed over NRG, but if you want some stats on how bad they were: They won 28.8% of their rounds, had a player multi-kill less than once every two rounds, had a negative win rate in five vs fours and have three of the four lowest rated players at the event.
On the other side, Imperial breezed through 3-0 with HEN1 going crazy, and FURIA pushed Complexity into an elimination game (which in NA is a 2-1 game, because only five teams go through) in a pulsating series.
We were worried about FURIA, but we needn’t have been.
That leaves M80, who were the recipients of Wildcard’s water assault, paiN, ODDIK (WOOD7’s team), Legacy (who had vintage coldzera on the server as they wiped out MIBR), Complexity and Team Liquid.
Don’t worry though, there’s seeding.
There’s no way Liquid will be playing Complexity…
