The talking point
The cut off for the Major is long behind us and the invites have been sent, yet teams are still out here making roster moves.
MOUZ have kicked Brollan and Jimpphat to make theirs, while Falcons have booted kyxsan - but is that really fair?
From the player’s perspective, obviously not. The Major is the pinnacle of Counter-Strike and every player wants to play in one, so having the opportunity ripped away from them past the point most other teams will be willing to do anything about it is just cruel.
But what about their teams? If you look at both Falcons and MOUZ, it’s easy to see why they made the changes.
Falcons forget how to play CS the moment it actually matters, and they lacked a leader who could tackle the egos on the team. So, karrigan is needed.
MOUZ are just terrible right now, and they lacked just about everything it takes to be a top Counter-Strike team. So, changes were needed.
But.
The Major cut off date is also a cut off date for the five players who will be getting stickers, and therefore it should also be the cut off date for any of these teams to make any changes, regardless of if these are only really in place due to a loophole regarding substitute rules.
Exceptions should, of course, be allowed for teams like paiN, where nqz seems to have legitimate reasons for not playing at the moment, but for Falcons and MOUZ? Who are just trying to get ahead when everyone else is waiting until the next Major cycle?
F-ck. That.
