CPH MAJOR, QUARTER 2
Counter-Strike. Bloody hell.
This was a grade A classic from round one to round however-the-hell-many-they-played. It was wall-to-wall chaos, clutches, moments and grit.
From that description alone, you probably already know that FaZe won.
There’s no team more dangerous than FaZe when the game goes long, but Spirit put up one hell of a fight. They were dead and buried on Vertigo, until two big 1v1s went their way, and they pulled back seven in a row to bring us to OT.
broky won a round with a smoke knife with milliseconds left on the bomb, donk swung through a molly to bag two extraordinary headshots on B, zont1x held his nerve to win a crucial 1v1 but to finish it off, an unusually quiet rain picked up both kills in a 1v2 to just about edge FaZe into the semi-finals.
It was broky who stood tallest in FaZe’s most crucial moments, and went toe-to-toe with donk to put FaZe in a commanding position, and it’s he who should take the plaudits. From his aggressive hut peeks on Nuke to his multikills on Vertigo, he did everything.
karrigan, too, was indomitable. He had one of those games, where he just takes over on stage. A phenomenal performance from the elder statesman.
Regardless of what side you’re on, it was an incredible game.
Watch it if you missed it. Rewatch it if you watched it. Rewatch it again.
It was a masterpiece.
