Astralis roster rumours
No, you haven’t traveled back to 2018.
Though if you ask Astralis, they’d probably love to, as they’re reportedly one step closer to running it back.
According to HLTV and Croissant Strike, Astralis are considering bringing Magisk back to the lineup once he is released from his Falcons contract, a move that would most likely see stavn benched.
On a side note, did you know Magisk is only 27? Is it just us, or does it feel like the guy’s been playing for at least 30 years?
There doesn’t seem to be a clear solution to the problems Astralis are currently facing, and this move feels more like a sidegrade.
They’ve brought in stavn and jabbi on huge fees to be key parts of the team. While they haven’t been terrible, they also haven’t consistently delivered the level of performance needed to take the next step and break into the top 5.
But is Magisk the answer? If we’re going purely on vibes, we’d say hell yeah. You’re bringing back a veteran who’s already won pretty much everything there is to win repping your jersey. Maybe Astralis just need a consistent, not-that-flashy player who shows up when they need him, both in and out of the server.
Honestly, at this point, not even God knows how to fix Astralis.
As for stavn, this might be a blessing in disguise, a chance to hit the reset button REZ-style. Find his place in a new team, maybe one with smaller ambitions, and start fresh. He’s only 23, so he still has many years of CS ahead of him. His talent is undeniable, as we saw in the HEROIC days, so we’re confident he can bounce back in the right environment.
Ultimately, one thing is clear: Astralis have no intention of going international, despite that being a possible solution.
Expanding their horizons would, at the very least, open up a much larger pool of players and options. But given they’re not exactly working with a fat wallet, those possibilities are quite limited considering the level they want to achieve.
Realistically, there’s only correct answer to this dilemma. Sign gla1ve, Xyp9x, and dupreeh, and you’ve got yourself a team.
