XSE Pro League 2026 Playoffs recap
Probably not how 9z will be remembering this weekend in Guangzhou, China, as they took home their first-ever notable trophy after a 3-0 stomping of PARIVISION.
HUASOPEEK really stepped up in the playoffs, and the Chilean rifler takes home his career’s and his country’s first MVP award as his team flies all the way to sixth in the world on VRS.
“What a Mickey Mouse ranking system”, we hear you shouting at your email inbox right now. Don’t worry, we agree, and if you need further evidence, Spirit are somehow number one at the moment.
Their path to the final wasn’t all rainbows, though, as the Swedes of Alliance gave the South Americans quite the fight in the semi-final. Despite the loss, they can leave the event with their heads held high, as they soar to a stellar eighteenth position in the world on VRS.
The final may have been over in a flash, but it was pretty clear that Jame is still paid by the round – it was overtimes galore in their series against BIG and FaZe. slaxejezzz's first tier one (point five) event ends in a silver medal, and with a 1.05 rating, we give him a passing grade. Looks like you weren't cheating after all.
In the meantime, he was able to take FaZe’s new wonderkid down a peg. The semi-final was unfortunately a bit of a stinker for JBOEN, ending the otherwise stellar 1.18-rated debut on a slightly sour note.
Yet more sour is the fact jcobbb somehow topfragged in that same game, but we’re sure that’s never gonna happen again.
One good game doesn't change the verdict, mind. Setting the major technical issues of this event aside, the main thing we're taking with us from Guangzhou is just how exposed jcobbb got. Out of the seven series FaZe played, we'd only really say two are passable for the Pole, and the performances were relatively inconsequential in the end.
enkay j seems to have grown a pair, at least, so maybe it won’t take years until we see lauNX on this team after all. All we can do is pray.
