It’s not often we’re wrong over here at TL;DR, but EliGE to FaZe is one of the few times we’ve been verywrong.

We were excited when we saw the move take place. In the wake of ropz, FaZe were to change their playstyle, switching up from being incredibly bottom-heavy to a more full frontal offense that would line up with the CS2, swing-everything-and-win meta.

But yeah, we were wrong.

The move just never really worked, and whether or not broky was (or still is) and issue, it just wasn’t meant to be. All you have to do is go back to their earliest interviews after adding EliGE to see that the cracks were already evident.

Everyone’s favourite bald American just needed too much to be changed for him. Too many extra protocols, too many extra callouts for random b-llshit the FaZe of old would just vibe through.

And to put it simply, he’s just not good enough for that.

An exceptional talent, sure. But not good enough to justify adding a question mark in front of the person we should all be calling the GOAT IGL.

So, seven months and many pitiful results later, EliGE has been benched by FaZe Clan. His replacement? A 21 year old from Poland that has limited tier one experience and who in one of those limited tier one games, was absolutely bodied by FaZe.

When you put it like that, it doesn’t look great for EliGE, does it?

If we’re being honest, we have no idea how we feel about jcobbb joining the team, and most of that is down to the fact we simply do not care what a “Betclic Apogee” might be doing down in tier 97 CS.

What we do know, though, is that he’s quite highly rated - as long as you avoid the cheater accusations. He’s also a pretty aggressive player, which means that FaZe (at least) don’t think that the issue has been with their switch in playstyle.

Again, this really doesn’t look good for EliGE.

We’re not convinced if this move will solve FaZe’s woes. In fact, we’re more convinced it will only be a continuation of them, but we’re willing to be proved wrong.

Hopefully, just like with the EliGE move, we will be. Because CS is just better when the FaZe b-llshit is in full force.
