BLAST Showdown
We’re not saying that Falcons winning makes BLAST Fall Showdown an unserious event, but…
Well, actually, it’s probably more that there isn’t a winner at all. It’s a last chance qualifier, essentially, where the also-rans and thing-a-majigs of the Counter-Strike world get to duke it out for the prestigious award of going out 7-8th at a real BLAST event.
And for some reason FaZe were there, and, as you might expect, they top two’d by beating Rare Atom, paiN and OG. As simple as you like. Honestly, if you could qualify for every event by beating OG, we think we’d have a shot at getting into an IEM or something.
We jest, but for Falcons this is something to hold on to.
It’s not a big event win or anything, but beating Complexity, M80 and VP back-to-back-to-back is worth something. Those are three solid teams, and it’s proof that Falcons are at least improving.
Not much else interesting happened (OG were 3-4th, it wasn’t a serious event), but it’s worth mentioning that Complexity, Cloud9 and NIP finished even below OG and VP, so we might need to keep tabs on them.
NIP, for what it’s worth, had one of the worst series of the year against AMKAL. Even though we mentioned it on Friday, it was so bad we want to mention it again.
For crying out loud, NIP. You’re supposed to be winning events by 2025.
