Who the hell is jks?

Everyone: stop what you are doing. It’s time to laugh at NIP and raise your eyebrows at BIG. It’s that time of the year again.
We're doing a little experiment here at TLDR which we call "avoid losing money every month".
For that to happen we need sponsors of the newsletter, and to get them, we would like to know a little more about you.
This helps us find brands that you are interested in, which is a win-win-win.
We've made this 3:42 min short survey (we timed it) that we would be grateful if you filled out.
Oh, and we’ll draw one winner of a SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless amongst everyone who completes it.
Your answers will help us keep sending free newsletters with amazing jokes each week.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
The RMRs are a time of joy, of high stakes, of dreams being realised and all that mushy Disney stuff - but more importantly, it’s when the frauds in the top tier get found out more than any other.
This is where you have to be at your best or the hungry tier 2 demons will come and eat you up, and we find out if you’re a tier one team on merit, or on reputation.
Us hatemaxxing fraudwatchers got our wishes fulfilled with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and a big fat cherry on top.
Ninjas in Pyjamas went out 0-3 in the RMR. Not the Major play-in, not the group stage, but the RMR. It wasn’t even the tough group, either - Group B looks much harder.
We actually laughed. Out loud. Honestly.
They got toppled by Eternal Fire after admitting they weren’t expecting Overpass, a map that seemed quite obvious to be the map in retrospect, and then got Overpass again against AMKAL.
That map was - pardon our French - chuffing terrible.
Neither team could string together a T side round, refusing to trade at any point, hit a site together or do anything resembling a proper team. It was a harrowing watch.
They then conspired to lose 2-0 to SAW. SAW!
We don’t dislike SAW, but that is embarrassing for a team who has spent that much money and effort on trying not to be awful. ewjerkz was the best player in the server, despite being on probably a tenth of k0nfig’s salary.
It’s alright though, NIP fans. THREAT says they’re going to be on top in eleven months’ time.
We’ll believe that when pigs fly, VALORANT is better than CS and every TLDR member gets a Valentines day card.

donk. That’s all.
Listen to us rave about the best player the world has ever seen.
Dear BIG, you're stupposed to stop history from repeating it self.
6 years ago BIG tried to become a (budget) international super team by signing XANTARES and smooya. Unfortunately for them, after showing mild promise the team collapsed, XANTARES was kicked and smooya replaced by syrsoN. This time, the team tried to sign a foreign AWPer in the form of mantuu to become an international starred team, and he was replaced by syrsoN.
And you know what, well say it: it’s a little unfair to mantuu.
The Pole has by and large been the biggest bright spark on this BIG roster. Despite the communication issues spawned by his signing, you can’t say he didn’t do well. Although you can’t blame BIG for moving back to the formula they’re known for.
Especially since this was a move of opportunity.
00NATION let their roster leave the org in free agency earlier this month, which included both JDC and syrsoN. For BIG this is like hitting the lottery, this international approach wasn’t working again AND they can sign the best german rifler not already on BIG for free. syrsoN being an experienced BIG player is only a bonus.
Will this make BIG a contender again? Nah, probably not.
As much as their historical consistency is impressive - and the fact that Krimbo is a stud - syrsoN is still a mostly unremarkable AWPer.
Optimistically he can perhaps match mantuu’s level. And that could just be enough when combined with BIG’s full German edge. That just leaves questions over JDC’s ability to step up, his floor could decide quite a lot of this BIG’s ability
We’ll be happy if this move means we get to see the BIG we know and love. CS:GO or CS2, gob B strike is inevitable.

G2 are one of Counter-Strike’s favorite soap operas.
The latest season, from a sensationalist (ours) point of view, is going hard.
jks, darling of Reddit, has been cut for objectively worse fragger nexa, who is bringing ‘vibes’ and secondary calling to make up for it, allegedly.
But with a target on their backs — and huNter- in career-worst form — they keep delivering.
m0NESY is on an absolute tear on CS2: While everyone was losing it over ropz, m0NESY was finding just as many gimmicks and is making the AWP look as OP as ever.
And he’s fired them to more success, a 3-0 run in Europe’s RMR to make G2 the first team booked in for the first CS2 Major.
The 2-0 match saw them grab revenge over FaZe in an easy 2-0, with NiKo back to his best.
G2 are a team that love a peak and trough. But their peaks last year came at Katowice and Cologne; could this year’s come in Copenhagen?
Elsewhere, VP joined them in typically comprehensive fashion. Their Kair0N-related disasterclass at Paris’ RMR is swiftly forgotten.
RMR CS is known for its upsets, but we’ve not seen a great many so far — depending on if you ever consider NIP favourites.
The only big team in trouble is Falcons, who have been screwed over by Valve seeding wise and sit at 1-2 after losses to FaZe (No. 1 at the event by HLTV ranking) and 2024’s big surprise package Eternal Fire (No. 6 at the event.)
Snappi and co. will now face AMKAL for survival, but should have the quality to still make it through.
Should, anyway. Never take anything in these RMRs for granted: The smooth sailing so far could be setting us up for an even bigger disaster than usual. See you Sunday.
