And we already have too little words to describe it.

There’s some last minute changes to the teams, FURIA has everyone’s pickems breathing down their neck, and Brazil is doing… Okay? The first weekend is already crazy.

The endangered species is officially extinct in Denmark.
After only being able to line up 3 eligible players due to visa issues, 9 Pandas are being replaced by GamerLegion in the Opening Stage of CS2’s first major tournament.
It’s an absolute heartbreak for seized and crew, after the veteran and his team fought through a grueling Last Chance bracket, beating teams like Astralis and GamerLegion themselves.
A wise man once said that one man’s sorrow is another man’s joy. Guess what, he was right.
With a tough run at the RMR B, facing defeats against the likes of Vitality, ENCE, and Heroic, GamerLegion were unable to snag the last Major spot in the Last Chance Qualifier, after a 2-1 loss to the Russian Pandas.
They now join the Opening Stage as the sixth-highest-ranked European team.
Talk about a lucky break.
The German organization will now attend their third Major tournament, following a Cinderella run that saw them reach the Blast Paris Major final.
Despite the unfortunate news, there’s always a bright side: Snax is back on the Major stage after his last appearance in 2018. Welcome back, legend.
Brazilian fans, it started off so well.
The first round of games at the PGL Copenhagen Major was a dream for the Brazilians in attendance. Of the 4 BR teams in attendance, 3 won their opening games. And the loser lost to another BR team. Legacy beating FURIA and ruining many a 0-3 pick, paiN, and Imperial beating Apeks and ENCE to make EU look foolish. For a brief moment, we thought maybe BR CS was back. We should’ve known better.
The second round of matches was Brazil’s hell.
paiN was blown out effortlessly, Imperial nearly came back against Heroic crushingly lost in Overtime, Legacy led 10-4 against C9 only to see themselves choke. And FURIA? Oh dear, FURIA. FalleN’s merry band of men fought against the second-best team in Asia, a shoo-in for 0-3… and lost handily. The final score of 9-13 doesn’t do justice to how outclassed FURIA looked at times. This clip and Scrawny’s reaction can best summarize the game. “What the fuck!?” ~Scrawny
That only leaves us with the question, what’s next for Brazil?
Well, the good news is they’ve avoided each other. The bad news, it’s going to be a hard time. FURIA plays KOI for elimination, which normally you’d back them to win, but after today god knows what’ll happen. Imperial, paiN, and Legacy meanwhile all play EU teams again, in the forms of Apeks, ENCE, and GamerLegion.
If you’re a fan of Brazilian teams, at least there's hope. All the teams, maybe bar FURIA, have shown the ability to compete hard. Anything can still happen, except for FURIA making it out of this stage, we’re pretty sure that dream is over.

The first weekend of the Major is always kind of… How do you say, it has this je-ne-sais-quoi. That’s French for “chaos” by the way. Probably. We took German classes in school, so we wouldn’t know.
Look at us, waffling away already like we’re a waffle maker. The Major is what matters, so here’s our rundown of who’s doing good, who’s doing okay, and who’s ruining pickems.
2-0
Not many surprises here, there’s a lot of familiar faces in this group. You might even call it ranking heaven, as #10, #11, and #12 - who are the highest ranked teams in this stage of the Major - all made it here. Who are these people? Heroic, Cloud9, and Eternal Fire respectively.
C9 and EF won both their matches relatively easily, Heroic only struggled a bit against Imperial. Only tiny surprise is SAW, who are seemingly punching above their weight. They did however get the easier matchups against barely-in-top-30 KOI and made-it-here-last-minute GamerLegion.
1-1
We lied to you. There’s one more high-ranked team in this stage, and they outrank all the ones from before. #9 of the world ENCE wasn’t off to a great start, struggling against both KOI and Imperial, and they’re now in limbo - and not the one with the low hanging stick and lots of cocktails - with the rest of the 1-1’ers.
All of the Brazilian teams from earlier are also here - bar FURIA - and GL and Ecstatic did well enough to get here. Apeks could’ve done better getting here and it feels like Lynn Vision lucked out but won’t do so good tomorrow… All in all: who knows what will happen here.
0-2
Highway to the danger zone but actually it’s not a funny hihi-haha song about flying for the US Navy, but it means you’re close to being eliminated. That’s 0-2. You’re one the edge and losing your grip. FURIA is the odd one out here, but we’ll be honest in saying that we’re not surprised AMKAL, TheMongolz, and KOI are here. Someone’s gotta be the best, and someone’s gotta go 0-3. Sorry, not sorry.
