A North American is headed to G2.

This is one of the craziest rumours of the year, and it’s all happening while G2 are embroiled in another drama around m0NESY. Meanwhile, TheMongolZ are looking to add another trophy…

The Mongolian forces of war are on their way toJönköping, ready to click more heads.
Coming off their first event win at YaLLa Compass, The MongolZ are heading to Sweden with raw confidence. You’d be amiss not to favour them for this ESL Challenger event, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy.
Complexity is rocking up with a freshly re-signed hallzerk and a point to prove. CoL is now #10 on HLTV’s rankings, and MongolZ is #11. If Complexity gets outdone here, this might be the first time in years, if not ever, that Asia’s best outranks their NA counterpart. TeaTime has a point after all.
Though obviously there are more than two teams at the event.
ENCE will have to do better than their debut when they were dismantled. They looked dysfunctional at YaLLa Compass, almost like this team was forced together. Though it could be worse, they could be Falcons, who will be trying to look good for once. The fact that both of these teams are considered outsiders for this event win, relative to their resources, says it all, really.
To further that point, we’re backing The MongolZ to win this event. Mostly because them outranking Complexity would be great content.

NAVI are so back.
So, so back. We were starting to worry that the Major was a bit of a fluke - and maybe it was - but we’re once again believing that NAVI have it in them to be the best team in the world.
The most encouraging part - other than muscling past Astralis and beating FaZe, of course - is that their stars seem to be back in business. b1t scythed through Astralis like a hot knife through butter, or a shark fin through water.
He smelt blood on the Danes and snapped them in half, ripping heads off left and right, before w0nderful and jL stepped up to drop 101 kills combined against FaZe putting NAVI straight into the semi-finals.
Astralis recovered to beat SAW and move through into the quarter-finals, obviously joined by FaZe.
Over in Group B, Virtus.pro’s new look appears to finally be clicking into gear as they took a marquee scalp - Team Vitality. We finally saw a glimpse of what a Virtus.pro team with a top level electronic can look like, and we’re a little worried. For everyone else, that is.
They were joined by Spirit, who had a bit of a wobble against a m0NESY-less G2. They dropped Ancient, but quickly recovered as their three-headed hydra ripped a makeshift G2 apart and sent them to the lower bracket - where they would be reunited with m0NESY.
VP’s elation was short-lived, however, as they found themselves on the end of a donking. Just the 41 kills and 102 ADR for him. The next highest kills in the series was sh1ro, at 25. Enough said.
m0NESY’s comeback seemed to be just in time for G2, but he was powerless to stop Vitality - in fact, apEX was the one who led the charge. The IGL came out all guns blazing to smash G2 on Inferno, and by the time m0NESY had warmed up it was too late, as Vitality took Mirage in first gear.
HooXi went 5-16 on the last map. We bring this up for no particular reason.

We’re winding down in the Counter-Strike season, which means we’re starting to get some wacky rumours. Thankfully, we recorded just in time to catch the craziest one yet…

Nothing like ending the week with a juicy transfer rumor.
G2 is looking to start next season on a high note, securing the services of prodigy boy malbsMD, a rising star that has been shining brightly since the beginning of the year.
The 21-year-old Guatemalan has found the form of his life with M80, delivering impressive performances in recent events. In EPL Season 19 alone, he boasted a remarkable 1.28 rating across 17 maps, upsetting G2 themselves in a BO3 series along the way.
Now, the rumor raises the question: who’s getting the boot? Well, we believe there’s a clear answer.
First and foremost, remove HooXi. He can’t keep getting away with this. Secondly, transition NiKo to IGL. After successfully calling the shots in Dallas, it seems like a natural move for him. Finally, give NiKo’s role to malbs, because we know the kid can entry frag. That first bullet is something else.
If anything, the move would be a clear firepower upgrade over pretty much anyone on the chopping block. Unless G2 management decides to kick NiKo or m0NESY. Unlikely.
G2 is (finally) cooking.
