The strangest reuniting might be happening.

Valve put up a MASSIVE update two days ago, but only if you’re the type of person who spunks money up the wall on skins. They should have removed Vertigo instead.

Remember how last week we said we wouldn’t be surprised to see Snappi replaced soon? Well, some new rumors are going around.
We’ll admit, It’s not quite our suggestion to pick up gla1ve. Rather, Falcons are going a little more… expressive.
apEX is the newest name on Falcons’s wishlist, who must think reuniting him with zonic will be the key to success. For some reason. apEX has proven any critic wrong so we can’t exactly besmirch his IGLing. We just question what reason he might have to leave a French org, with a passionate fanbase plus a sprinkle of ZywOo.
Fair enough it worked on Vitality, but that’s ages ago at this point. For content's sake though, this move would be amazing. Imagine the direct comparison between NiKo + s1mple and ZywOo + spinx. Absolute cinema.
Or well, it would be. Unfortunately for us Counter-Strike content pedlers, this might stay a rumour. Vitality has openly made fun of the move on social media, showing that, if nothing else, they’re clearly confident.
Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s off the table. Organisations will always deny any speculation about their players. But it would be very silly of them to go this hard only for the rumour to be true.
Would this potential move be good? But we don’t see why he’d leave his fellow Frenchie, ZywOo.
Wait a minute, surely Falcons couldn’t…

Want a new anti-cheat? Here, have some charms.
Smoother movement? Enjoy some stickers.
Performance boosts? What are you on about, take some skins.
Updated map pool? Here are some more skins.
Gaben Claus came bearing gifts, but not quite the ones most of us had on our wishlist.
The new Armory update introduces a battle pass, gun charms, stickers, three new weapon collections, and a new case, adding up to 100+ new items. Skin bros are eating good.
By purchasing the pass, you’ll earn credits through XP, which can be exchanged for a wide range of dangling ornaments and shiny skins. Time to say goodbye to FACEIT for a while.
Don’t get us wrong; we’re glad to see new content. But if you’re going to drop an update like this, why not throw in a few missions and make it a full-blown operation?
Maybe we’re expecting too much. The two devs left working on CS probably pulled some serious overtime just to get this one out.
But don’t worry, it’s not all about flashy new finishes to drain your wallet.
There are some actual gameplay improvements too – like smoother movement, networking tweaks, and finally a fix for that annoying water sound bug.
One (small) step closer to the Counter-Strike experience we all knew and loved.
One thing that wasn’t mentioned in that big new update (coughs) was a map pool update; unless one counts Italy being added to matchmaking, for some reason.
Overpass was dropped pretty unceremoniously by Valve because nobody played it in the Major playoffs, even though it would have been had VP qualified, and they only didn’t make the playoffs because the game broke at 12-11 up.
With that in mind, it’s worth mentioning that nobody is playing Vertigo right now.
Valve recently changed it to try and make it playable, and it seems to have made things worse. It’s been pointed out that it didn’t get played at Fall Final because 50% of the teams there permaban it, as sort of an explanation, but really, it makes the opposite point.
It only begs the question: why do 50% of the good teams permaban it?
It’s never truly been a popular map, and in pro play it’s often been disliked by both viewers and players at the top level. Recent changes have made it even harder to deal with all the angles on A, and the B site is a miserable experience.
Even those who like Vertigo admit it’s flawed, usually. The main argument in defence of Vertigo is that there are other bad maps that might need to go first, which is something known as not an argument.
It’s not like there aren’t other options. Cache must be nearly done. You can port over Train. Bring back Overpass. Put in Tuscan. Anything. Cobblestone if you really have to.
All of those maps are flawed, but they’re flawed in ways that have rarely impacted the viewer experience, and were all played more often by big teams (bar Tuscan, which might be just as bad as Vertigo in practice, but at least it would be a new kind of rubbish).
The map just fundamentally will never be among the best maps to grace this game, and it’s time Valve faced the music.
In our opinion, anyway. Maybe you disagree, but that would make you wrong.
