‘Expect the unexpected’ takes another victim.

donk decides he actually does want to beat HEROIC, G2 finally win convincingly, and Vitality have a tough test today.

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when we declared that MOUZ ‘might have been the real winners of the roster shuffle’?
We’d like to apologise to MOUZ for jinxing it, honestly.
When we booted up the tl;dr HQ PC at 7:30 PM on Wednesday night after a hard day at the ‘Infinite Chimps Typewriter’ factory, we were aghast. We rubbed our little eyes as hard as we could, but still, it did not disappear.
‘MOUZ bench siuhy ahead of Kato- blah blah blah’ or something. Honestly, we never read past the headline, and reading the whole headline is a stretch on long days.
We checked the date. Nope, not April Fools’. We checked the spelling — yep, it’s definitely siuhy, and definitely MOUZ, and it’s definitely that they benched him.
What the hell is going on?
We’re… no closer to knowing, actually.
siuhy’s statement and MOUZ’s statement, ironically, agreed that the issue was “clashing visions” on the team. Was siuhy asking them not to choke, and the rest of MOUZ went ‘nah’?
By the time we started to process the move, MOUZ had basically already signed a replacement, too, which makes us think it wasn’t all that sudden from their point of view. You don’t enter negotiations and leave them with a player like Spinx in a day or two.
So yes, Spinx has a team. It’s MOUZ. Who just lost their wunderkind IGL. Which, you will notice, Spinx is not.
Spinx is a wonderful player, but he’s both the oldest and not the IGL-est on the team. Obviously (read that as sarcastically as you like), Brollan is the new IGL of MOUZ.
We’re not joking, by the way. MOUZ actually benched siuhy for Spinx a week after player break ended. We get wanting Spinx — market opportunities like this don’t come around all that often, and sometimes you have to make an unpopular decision when the market allows.
But siuhy was the last person you’d want to bench.
Something tells us this break up wasn’t related to any in-server activities. Actually, that something was siuhy and MOUZ.
A whole host of IGLs just felt their sphincter tighten.
We’ve finally made it to the LAN stage of BLAST Bounty and we can’t wait to see Counter-Strike in front of a roaring crowd again.
Oh, it’s in the BLAST studio. Well, never mind then.
Either way, we got our first taste of LAN action in 2025 yesterday, and it went exactly how you’d expect it to, with victories for both G2 and Spirit.
The day began with Spirit vs. HEROIC, and the first map was another showing from HEROIC that actually gives us faith in the future of this team. Even with Maden as a stand-in, they kept Anubis close with a 13-11 scoreline, and SunPayus also continued his fragging from the previous round.
Sadly for them, they had to face donk on a T-side rampage, and that’s where their solid CS came to an end.
Spirit picked up 19 out of 24 T-side rounds they played, with donk and sh1ro combining for 23 kills apiece in those rounds.
Looks like they’ll be good again this year. How good for Spirit.
We then moved on to an absolute brutalisation of BetBoom at the hands of G2, but let’s be fair, what hope did BetBoom really have with nafany (their sub) back on the server?
It’s a shame, considering how strong they’d looked in their previous two matches. Perhaps they might have kept the game competitive had Boombl4 and zorte been there, but honestly, we doubt it.
Snax might have many (entirely reasonable) criticisms towards his IGLing, but do you even need an IGL if your stars play like that?
No seriously, we need to explain just how much the big man coasted through that series. Sure, the scores may have been 13-2, 13-2, but Snax put up 10 kills across the two maps. Two maps! The remaining members of the team got 27, 28, 28, and 36.
If only there was an IGL on the market that wouldn’t steal his pay cheque…
Possibly even another Polish one…

This week’s ‘special guest’ is draken — he’s not on Overtime on Inferno, but he’s certainly special. The boys dissect his latest attack on NIP, along with discussing how Magisk got so bad.
Day 2 of the Bounty playoffs is upon us, with 2 cases of David vs. Goliath. But with AKs instead of slingshots.
Kicking the day off with Vitality vs. Eternal Fire. Clearly, Vitality is the favourite, ropz’ integration has been a great success so far as he’s been fragging out. But never underestimate the power of a XANTARES peek. Eternal Fire is always dangerous.
Vitality knows that more than anyone, having lost three of their last four meetings with the Turkish side. EF’s last win was made possible thanks to a massive game from woxic, and he’s been struggling a lot recently. Facing ZywOo that’s absolutely not what you want if you’re a Turkish fan.
We’re pretty sure Vitality will take that side of the bracket at this point. Their fire power is just insane.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the bracket, NAVI meets paiN. That sounds like a corny one-liner.
Much like the first game, it’s clear NAVI is the favourite. They’re obviously the better team, and unlike the Vitality EF dynamic, NAVI has beaten paiN in their last four matchups. But to their credit, paiN beat FaZe in the last round, and you would’ve said something similar about that game. If they want to recreate that result, they’ll need another banging performance from dav1deuS. We rate him, but we’re not confident.
We’d love to see paiN win, though. It’d be great for them to take all the VRS they can get. The money certainly doesn’t hurt, either.
What are the odds that the winner of Bounty will come from one of these games? Vitality is looking pretty good…
We’ll see you back here for a recap of tomorrow’s Semis and the Grand Final that takes place on Sunday.
