Major stickers aren’t meant to make us feel this way

The Major stickers are out, and they’ve got us feeling all kinds of ways.
Meanwhile, PGL’s CEO has made himself look silly, and Passion UA (yes, Passion UA) almost made Falcons look even silier.

First things first. Eight team tournament with six team playoffs?
That’s woke.
Realistically, it doesn’t really matter; the ‘lower bracket final’ games are simply rebranded as quarter-finals, albeit Group A vs Group B lower bracket. This surely will have no negative effect on who makes it to the semi-finals. Surely.
With only two teams out at this stage, you have to properly mess up to be out already, or just be the worst team at the event. TYLOO are probably the worst team at the event, but The MongolZ?
We have concerns.
Senzu’s untimely departure was always going to be tough to deal with, but it seemed like controlez might be alright and the transition might be quite smooth. Instead, it seems like that foreboding burst of energy people get just before they depart their mortal coil.
That was morbid. But we had to watch them lose to Passion UA, and that didn’t exactly make us feel alive.
They also lost to Spirit, who were in the lower bracket having spluttered to a loss against Falcons. Falcons are a very good team, but probably not quite the absolute best team in the world Spirit insist on making them look like. donk just cannot kill NiKo, and it’s not obvious why.
On the other side, predictably, FURIA beat paiN, Vitality took down TYLOO (both with a map loss, however) and paiN beat TYLOO. FURIA once more toppled Vitality to move on to the semi-finals.
Basic stuff.
This does, though, mean Vitality drop to the quarter-finals, and will play Spirit at 11:30 CET.
Vitality are not exactly in red-hot form and even in wins of late have looked shaky, fallible and underwhelming; while Spirit have some issues around their T sides and can’t seem to find a consistent style to get the best out of their third and fourth men.
Sounds like two bad teams. Fortunately, that game comes after the real show, Passion UA vs paiN.
A game we will absolutely be getting up at 9AM to watch. What do you think we are, casuals?
Remember how tournament organisers now have to announce details of their events a billion years in advance? PGL’s CEO Silviu does.
He took to Twitter to tell everyone that multiple events - none of his own, of course - won’t be taking place in 2026, namely those of FISSURE and StarLadder.
That, so he says, is because they missed the deadlines to announce the next important details for their events so Valve will prevent them from running them in line with their VRS rulings.
So, given all that we’ve ever told you about Valve and their rather nonchalant management of the VRS circuit, what do you think happened? Were those events officially struck off the calendar? Or did Silviu end up with egg on his face after one of those TOs officially announced their event?
If you guessed both then we’d question why as it wasn’t one of the options, but fair play, because you’re also correct.
Not long after Silviu’s tweet, or after Striker seemingly confirmed the news on HLTV Confirmed, StarLadder announced that they will in fact be running a CS2 event in 2026, but will also be cancelling one due to the IEM Cologne Major.
If only Valve followed their own rules about announcing tournaments head of time.

This week is the week of delusions. Who do we delusionally support, why are OG delusionally hoping cadiaN is still good and is Jame the best IGL for Spirit, or are we all a bit delusional? Well, the last one is just Elliott.

The Major stickers are now out, and there’s some pretty interesting stickers in the collection.
kyousuke’s is, well, a stinker, and rain’s has even our horribly cold hearts feeling all emotional. CYPHER does, too, but that’s just more down to our residual anger at fnatic.
On the other end of the spectrum is some absolute bangers, with our favourites coming from drop, Mercury, and our current favourite player, molodoy.
Stickers now also come with Sticker Slabs now, so if it pleases you, you can now also pretend like they have a real grading like Pokemon cards. Great. Cheers Valve, can we get 128 tick now maybe?
This one is for all you skinphiles out there. Keep reading to find the answer.

Cover your ears, mzinho. Your biggest nightmare is back.
Ever since OG shocked everyone by benching nicoodoz and Chr1zN, we’ve all been left wondering who could possibly step into their shoes.
Well, we didn’t have to wonder for long, as OG decided to kill two birds with one stone. They brought back the legend himself, from the depths of Astralis’ bench, to lead a revamped roster aiming to recreate the prime HEROIC magic.
Honestly, we kinda like this move. It feels like a good environment for a captain like cadiaN to build a project around his ideas and relaunch his career - away from the bright spotlights of teams like Astralis and Liquid. In OG, he can focus on grinding his level back up and slowly working his way toward the top again.
That said, we just can’t ignore what his individual level looked like in his latest stints, especially in Astralis. It was rough. He’ll need to step up if OG wants to be competitive, especially while handling both AWP and IGL duties.
Overall, it’s encouraging to see OG continue to invest in Counter-Strike. As one of esports’ most recognizable brands, their presence benefits the scene. While the organization hasn’t seen much success since the degster and flameZ era, their renewed commitment is a positive sign.
With Chr1zN leading the charge, there seemed to be real potential, but that chapter has closed. The (immediate) future is cadiaN, and if there’s one thing we know about him, is that he can turn a team into a contender. Will OG be his redemption arc? He’s done it before…
Don’t tell anyone, but we actually couldn’t care less how this team performs. We just can’t wait to hear him screaming his lungs out again.
With one spot remaining on OG’s roster, we ask you this:
In the last edition, we asked you: What did apEX do after losing the IEM Chengdu final to FURIA?

Trivia answer: The first Major stickers came at the first CS:GO Major, Dreamhack Winter 2013 - they just weren’t stickers as we know them today!
