A bad day for Sun enjoyers

What do you get when you put seangares and messioso in charge of a NA org’s CS Division that actually has some money behind it? No NA players apparently.
Also this week, FURIA are still winning, and have now become the nailed on favourites to win the Major. What a time to be alive.

The BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 Playoffs went more or less the way you’d expect. Well, aside from Passion UA sneaking in. If you called it… well, you might want to get that checked out.
Still, with six Playoff spots in an eight-team event, you practically had to try not to make it.
In the first quarterfinal, Passion UA fully lived up to the three-letter word that follows the ‘P’ in their name. They got destroyed by paiN in two maps that ended faster than your average B-rush on Dust2. All the paiN boys came ready to swing, but it was dgt who stole the spotlight with an especially nasty performance.
But it was in the second quarter that the real teams took to the stage. Well, the real team. We’re not sure what Spirit are right now, but it certainly isn’t pretty. Something else that wasn’t pretty was zweih’s showing in Vitality’s 2-1 victory, as he dropped an absolute 0.84 stinker that had Spirit fans begging for magixx’s return.
The battle of the ‘c-ralho’ in the semis went FURIA’s way, as paiN simply couldn’t stop the freightrain that was KSCERATO, who closed out the 2-0 sweep with a crazy 2.10 rating and an even crazier +11.70% round swing (we have no clue what this swing sh-t means, we just like big green numbers).
In the big green number department, m0NESY also stole the show in the semifinal against Vitality, singlehandedly sweeping them with a 1.56 rating and way too many highlights to list. But the gold medal definitely goes to this ace clutch.
Fun fact: this Falcons victory effectively destroys Vitality’s chances of matching Astralis’ 2018 record of ten trophies in a single year. Close, but no cigar.
Serviceable of a recap for ya? Good. Now if you’ll excuse us, it’s time to get some sleep. God knows we haven’t seen much of that lately.

Is molodoy to FURIA the best signing ever?
There was some hype around molodoy, but nothing like the hype we’ve seen around other AWPers who were killing it in tier two and three. This wasn’t a slam dunk pick-up at the time, not least because FURIA had to switch to English.
Absolutely nobody saw him being this good, and FURIA getting this much better.
FURIA overcame Falcons in the grand final to pick up their fourth trophy of the season. If you had said that sentence would make sense to us in May, we’d have drowned you for being a witch. A completely bonkers prediction.
And yet…
When Falcons blew FURIA out of the water on Inferno 13-3 (which we, legitimately, forgot happened until we went back to look at the game again), and then broke FURIA’s pistol round win straight back to start Nuke, the casters were talking about how FURIA needed to get some rounds to ‘make it competitive.’
It’s fair to say they did that, at least. They immediately broke back and put up a 6-1 lead, and though Falcons recovered, they could not stop the tidal wave that FURIA had set in motion. It took double OT on both map three and four, but molodoy collected 32 kills in both.
He wasn’t even the top fragger in the final, largely because YEKINDAR went absolutely bananas on T side Nuke, dropping 27 in a 13-9 win and picking up a 2.21 (!) rating, with 21 of those kills coming in the second half. He was incredible, and yuurih wasn’t too far behind him in the series.
YEKINDAR: your time on Liquid does not count.
Falcons looked like they might push us to a fifth map when they went up 15-12 on Mirage, but FURIA stood tall and denied them that solace, and from there the outcome was inevitable.
FURIA go into the Major as big, big favourites.
How on Earth did this happen?
The win at BLAST Rivals Hong Kong is FalleN’s 15th win in a BO5, but when was his first?

Although we think it’ll be a while until we know the full roster, 100 Thieves have gotten off to a strong start - their new head of CS, messioso, has said that the NA org won’t be focused on NA players as they make their return to the game.
A statement that saw him get into a little spat with “news” reporter Ozzny, the reason why was clear: unlike Complexity, 100 Thieves are actually operating with a budget, and therefore don’t need to rely upon propping up a dying region for a brand or noble mission.
Thank f-ck for that.
In addition to that, they’re already flashing their muscle as they’ve managed to entice FaZe legend rain to join the team. And, to make it even more exciting, he’ll be IGLing for his new squad, regardless of who they sign.
Given that previous reports indicated that rain will only be joining the team on the basis that a “strong” core is signed, we have no concerns that 100 Thieves will at least be somewhat competitive when 2026 begins, but to what level is anyone’s guess.
There’s only two cores we see being both affordable and actually viable - GamerLegion and 3DMAX - and based on current form, one of those teams (annoyingly) is a lot better than the other.
Both teams also raise big questions as to who the fifth may be. Signing 3DMAX without picking up Maka would be foolish, whilst signing GamerLegion and including hypex instead of their rifle core would mean you’ve probably been sold a lie, so what type of player are 100 Thieves even likely to be after at the end of all of this?
Our (very large) brains tell us the GamerLegion core is the one they’ll have targeted, using PR, REZ, and Tauson to secure a solid 19th place on the VRS rankings for when the year begins. That will leave them in need of an AWPer, and likely one that’s actually able to shoot back and not Kursy or hypex if they want to improve on that current ranking.
If 100 Thieves were to listen to the best CS2 podcast, that means they’ll go after SunPayus or kl1m, whichever one of the two snipers isn’t on G2 when next year begins.
Of course, no one ever actually does listen to us, so:
Welcome L00m1 to 100 Thieves.
With the announcement that rain will be transitioning to IGLing when he gets underway with 100 Thieves, we want to ask you this:
In the last edition, we asked you who should be OG’s 5th? Here’s what you said:
🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜️⬜️ 🇩🇰 It doesn’t matter, cadiaN dooms the team – 37,5%
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🇩🇪 k1to - after all, he must always be on OG – 12,5%
🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨 🇷🇺 Some random Russian kid no one has heard ever of – 43.8%
⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🇱🇹 bymas, because taken must be right one day – 6,2%
Trivia answer: FalleN’s first BO5 win came for Luminosity at the MAX5 Invitational back in January 2016. A South America LAN, the team of FalleN, coldzera, TACO, fer, and fnx defeated Keyd Stars 3-0 in the final.
