The one we call the GOAT

karrigan, man. This time on FaZe, it just doesn’t count. You’ll always be him. Your team does suck, though. And so does KONO, who should really start paying their players.

Name a more iconic duo.
The transfer mill was in full swing this week, and perhaps the biggest story involved birdfromsky and b0RUP.
Now that’s something we didn’t think we’d ever say.
The duo announced their departure from kONO amid claims that the organisation owes them four months of salary.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though. Just a few months ago, Keoz took to X/Twitter alleging that the org had breached his contract by failing to pay his December salary, saying he received “pressure, threats, and attempts to discredit me” after speaking up.
So, nothing new there then.
A team that is on a regular payroll - though their CS might suggest otherwise - is OG. After signing cadiaN and FL4MUS just a few months ago, the organization has already made further changes, benching the Russian and bringing in bodyy on loan.
Losing Chr1zN appears to have been the final nail in the coffin for an OG squad that has been tumbling down the VRS ever since, recently dropping to #92. And frankly, we’re not convinced bodyy is the fix.
In a similar situation, Inner Circle has decided to bench Flierax following a terrible start to 2026 that saw them slide from a peak of #26 all the way down to #75. This was genuinely an exciting team to watch, especially during their run at the end of 2025, but ever since losing their biggest star in cairne, things clearly haven’t been the same.
Lastly, nEMANHA has joined ChatGPT Esports - also known as Wildcard - as their new IGL. The Serbian now finds a new home after leading one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the year, illwill - a mix of free agents that forced its way into the Major conversation after a string of both online and LAN deep runs.
Leaving that for Wildcard? That’s a downgrade if we’ve ever seen one.

A Major winner. An Intel Grand Slam winner. The greatest IGL of all time.
To some, this will mean gla1ve. To others, apEX. But to us? It’s karrigan.
A man who, no matter how hard he gets hit, no matter how low his team sinks, always, somehow, comes back from the depths of hell. And comes back swinging at that.
In the latest video from our man fuffy, he takes a look at the storied history of karrigan. The highs, the lows, and the fact that he might actually just be Luke Skywalker in disguise.
No, really. Just watch it.

MOUZ and Spirit 3-0. FURIA dodging a 0-3. Let’s talk about it.
Now, we know a lot of you are going to be using FURIA’s poor start as some excuse to denigrate them, but let’s remember one key thing: FalleN won’t be there for playoffs, so they’re really just not arsed.
Still, it is mildly disheartening to see them lose to 3DMAX and B8, especially when both teams aren’t exactly good right now.
MOUZ and Spirit, though, did what was expected of them. The former took down The MongolZ 2-0 to advance after beating both Astralis and HEROIC 2-1, whilst Spirit beat 3DMAX, B8, and G2.
And somehow it was B8 that gave them the most trouble, so maybe they’re not as bad anymore.
Or perhaps it’s just online CS.
On the other end of the bracket, we have HEROIC and Monte, who have both now departed the tournament. HEROIC had a tough go of it, losing to a trio of MOUZ, FUT, and FURIA, and it didn’t get much better for Monte, either - they fell to NAVI, Legacy, and FaZe.
Still unbelievably funny how FaZe are the most beatable of that trio.
As for karrigan and co., they opened their account with a pitiful 13-1 drubbing on Dust2 at the hands of G2, with huNter-’s lads rounding out the series 13-10 on Ancient. They then lost 2-1 to paiN, who have looked dreadful all year, in a game that really sums up just how in the dumps FaZe are.
G2 continue to confuse us. After looking bang average in Cluj and Stage 1, they’ve smashed FaZe, looked comfortable against NAVI, and even kept it close versus Spirit.
A shred of consistency would be nice.
Elsewhere, Astralis battered FUT, then got smacked by MOUZ after winning map one, and didn’t exactly look great against Legacy - who they lost to - either. Oh, and Legacy also had a 25-21 map loss to Aurora on Inferno.
What a lovely day to not have a rolling schedule.
Looking ahead, we’ll see The MongolZ take on 3DMAX (which we hope sees the Mongolians advance), NAVI vs Legacy, and Aurora vs G2.
Facing elimination are FUT and B8, Astralis and FaZe, and FURIA and paiN.
Time to say your farewells, FaZe.
FaZe are still absolutely terrible, so we have one simple question to ask you:
