Vitality’s empire is crumbling around them.

It’s a bit odd to mention this, but Vitality did win their most recent game after losing to B8. If they’d have lost to Lynn Vision, though, we truly would have lost all hope.

That’s right, we’re officially calling it.
The Vitality era is over, and perhaps fittingly, it ended exactly where it began. Alright, we might be overreacting a bit, but humour us.
The EWC group stage has concluded, and Paris saw its fair share of upsets. Though few were more unlikely than the hometown heroes falling at the hands of B8.
The cracks are starting to show. They still made the Playoffs with an easy win over Lynn Vision, but with their leader and reliable anchor out of the picture for the next few events, it’ll be a difficult season for Vitality.
While xfl0ud is proving to be an upgrade so far - could lauNX do this? - 100 Thieves and their prodigy IGL suffered a brutal beating at the hands of PARIVISION. They exit the EWC with just 14 rounds won across three maps, putting a stain on what has otherwise been a promising start for Gizmy.
Spirit continued to look rough after their loss to JiJieHao, narrowly avoiding another disaster against BIG. Luckily, there’s no need to worry when you’ve got donk on your team. As usual, he put up highlight after highlight when Spirit needed him most, carrying them to the Playoffs.
Heading into the event, we had a big question mark over both NAVI and 9z. And while both looked shaky, 9z were the ones to really sh-t the bed. The third-best team in the world failed to progress, eliminated by magic of all teams, with a disasterclass from dgt sealing their fate.
Oh, we almost forgot. For the love of God, someone save xKacpersky.

“EWC want randomness,” said ESL, in response to the question of why we’re setting up the playoff bracket by drawing plastic balls out of a hat rather than seeding it by ranking.
Ask, and you shall receive - there was randomness indeed.
The bracket to decide this two-million-dollar event is lopsided to say the least, as most of the world’s top brass sit on the same side of the bracket. Out of Vitality, Falcons, Spirit, and NAVI, only one will see the grand final.
That being said, we can think of many asterisks to put on all of these teams. Be it imminent parenthood, fluky world championships, a coach actively working against them, or an inability to make changes to a stagnating roster, we’re not even sure we’ll see any of these four in the final. After all - FaZe are here as well.
These bombshells have a nasty cough, but they’re up against some quite interesting hydrogen-powered babies.
(Please just bear with this metaphor.)
Sure, teams like magic, or Astralis can’t realistically be considered championship calibre right now, but let’s not forget that MOUZ just took a trophy with PR, and teams such as FURIA or G2 can’t ever really be counted out.
Hell, we’ll even give a small chance to FUT, Aurora, or even GamerLegion. xfl0ud looked very interesting powering past MOUZ in the group stage, and bar the unfortunate loss in the opening best-of-one, Aurora kept it tidy to make it through.
And if you’re being honest with yourself, wouldn’t it just be fun to see GamerLegion take on Vitality in another Paris grand final?
No? Too bad - the balls are drawn, and RNGesus has spoken.
