broky and ultimate have had their crowns snatched

The voices were speaking to us and saying something lovely things about FUT, so it’s a shame one of their team members had to sabotage all of that.
Those same voices have been speaking to Gaules, too, and we like what they’re saying.

Gaules has us excited earlier this week, he hopped on his stream to say that MIBR are looking to build a super team by signing elements from the seemingly dying FURIA.
Those elements, you’ll be very surprised to hear, are KSCERATO and yuurih, and would see the duo link up with insani, LNZ, and nqz.
And we think the sound of that is f-cking lovely.
That would, of course, leave FURIA in a strange spot. They’re losing FalleN at the end of the year, and the rumours of molodoy and potentially YEKINDAR’s departures keep persisting, if they were to lose their franchise Brazilians as well, would they even remain in CS? It probably wouldn’t be worth it.
To be honest, we think there’s probably a very low percentage of this happening. CS is very important to FURIA, and while they can’t avoid losing FalleN and are probably resigned to the loss of molodoy, letting go of the rest of their team would be relevancy suicide.
There’s also the fact that MIBR are already signing tomaszin. Which, to be fair, does make it seem like FURIA told them to f-ck right off.
As for that move, we think it’s cracking. The outgoing brnz4n is a rather unsurprising player, and tomaszin is far too good for BESTIA. The move to Legacy that fell through would have excited us more, but hey, quacke is Swedish, so he’ll be over the moon LNZ is getting some reinforcements.
Now they just need to sign insani to a new contract, and they might actually become a more consistent figure in tier one.
Well, probably not, so maybe it’s just best they let him go to FURIA instead.
That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?

The lopsided-as-hell EWC Playoff bracket has concluded… and it was actually pretty fun to watch. If you’re not a NAVI fan, that is.
Seriously, what was that? They got eliminated by Legacy in the very first round, in what was an embarrassing showing. After B1ad3’s comments about the team being close to making changes, their EWC run only made the cracks look even bigger. Change is desperately needed.
On the other hand, change is what seemed to really made Legacy step up. After getting rid of NAVI, they took down Falcons on their way to the semis, with try the main driving force. He’s looking like the real deal, and perhaps just the piece Legacy needed to break into the top five and actually stay there.
Speaking of the devil, this was a particularly disappointing showing from the Major Champions - as well as Vitality - with both teams only managing to make it to the quarters. Not even the home crowd buff could lift Vitality out of the slump they’re going through, and without their full squad at the next two events, it’s hard to see how they turn things around anytime soon.
Meanwhile, FUT are riding some serious momentum. Much like Legacy, their offseason change looks to have been exactly what they needed. After beating magic, MOUZ, and FURIA, with cmtry making a strong case for himself, they’re firmly establishing themselves among the contenders.
Joining FUT in the grand final were Spirit, who seemed determined to prove that hally isn’t the problem. Leading that charge was - surprise, surprise - donk. Just like in the group stage, the kid carried Spirit on his back, leaving us running out of words to describe him. Even his teammates have already had enough of his bullsh-t.
With donk going supernova, it was hard to give FUT much of a chance in their first big event grand final, but they certainly weren’t going down without a fight.

Have you ever wanted to play CS on a team like the pros? If you live in NA, we’ve got an opportunity for you.
No friends, money, or even skill required!
CSC is a free volunteer-run CS2 league that operates like a franchised sports league. Everyone shows up, plays some games, then is drafted to a team in their own skill division.
With weekly matches, showmatches casted on twitch, and over 700 active players, it’s no wonder that many of the NA tl;dr staff play in CSC. That, and the fact that we aren’t good enough to pay for ESEA.
Season 21 is starting right now! Play Counter-Strike competitively, casually, in NA’s biggest free league at discord.gg/CSC.

We’ve occasionally gotten scoffed at when we say Spirit are a contender team, since a large part of their stint in tier one has been spent underdelivering.
The best mechanical player of all time continues delivering blinders week in and week out, and yet his four teammates (and coach) keep sh-tting the bed. It’s a constant cycle, and we’re eager to point it out in this newsletter week in and week out.
But one thing you’ll never see us do is count them - or rather, him - out of contending for the win.
FUT’s strong form from the upper part of the bracket initially carried into the grand final, as a gambled pick of Cache paid off with a brawly 13-10 victory. From here, we think FUT may leave Paris with a sense of what could have been.
A late comeback from 5-11 on the CT-side of Anubis ended up being for nought, as tN1R showed rare signs of life and Spirit closed the map in overtime. FUT stayed in the fight with a strong lead by 12-9 on Ancient, but once again Spirit took over the overtime period, with sh1ro and zont1x joining the supporting cast.
What could have been a 3-0 win for the young team in their biggest ever grand final was now a 1-2 deficit heading into Spirit’s second pick of Nuke. Keeping the energy up in that situation is tough, but one little Russian kid did.
Despite the map ending at 13-5 donk racked up 21 frags in what can only be described as a classic performance from the little goblin of pure Counter-Strike. We won’t even mention who got the MVP, because with a 1.50 rating, you already know.
As much as the other Spirit players delivering the minimum today was a key factor in the dub, it’s self-explanatory that donk is the reason we call this team a contender. When you have mechanical talent like that, you can never count anything out.
Just imagine what this kid would do on a team without hally.
