Cue the Shrek song.

In EPL’s Group C, M80 and fnatic shattered the CS2 record for most rounds played on a single map, enduring a 71-round and 8-overtime marathon. In the end, M80 emerged victorious with a nail-biting 37-34 win. Imagine playing 71 rounds and still losing the game… that’s a filter.

The game dragged on for so long that the players even had to take a bathroom break mid-map. M80 ultimately came out on top, securing the sweep over Fnatic and punching their ticket to the Playoffs. NA fans, rejoice!

Watching Astralis is also a bit of a drag right now, as they just can’t seem to find their groove. After a tough loss to fnatic in the opening round, they went on to get swept by Complexity in the lower bracket.

Losing to fnatic is downright embarrassing, but getting rolled by Complexity? Rough time to rep Astralis. If only there was a solid Danish IGL on the market…

If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Liquid has been been living by this motto for a while now, and one of their (many) gambles is finally paying off.

Ultimate, aka Roland from Poland, is the real deal. The young AWPer is currently averaging an impressive 1.45 rating across four maps in Group D, carrying Liquid into the Playoffs after wins against ENCE and Virtus.Pro.

To top it off, as usual, here are some EPL recommendations to fill your Friday:

FURIA vs. Red Canids in the reunion of old Brazilian legends;

Virtus.Pro vs. Falcons in the battle of the underperforming teams.

Small roster stuff

ENCE have got themselves a new coach - kuben has been benched after a turbulent few months, and former Entropiq coach enkay J has taken the reigns. It’s a brave move, but fortune often favours the bold. Sadly for kuben, it doesn’t favour the bald.

seized has retired from professional Counter-Strike. It’s a really sad week as we look back on a prestigiou- sorry, we lied. He played a game two days ago. He’s played more games since retiring than he had for three months before retiring.

1WIN have benched neaLaN, buster and Ryujin as they look to completely rebuild. We didn’t think things could get worse for neaLaN than signing for Evil Geniuses - and we were completely right. This is much better.
