First game / Last game
A lot of the time these stories end up with our main character starting in some mixed team with a funny name, taking what seems like an uncharacteristic loss to some complete randoms.
It’s more rare it starts with playing alongside a legend of the game, and against future Major champions. Even rarer that it’s a win.
oskar first appeared in Czech CS 1.6 teams for years before the transition to Global Offensive, where he entered the AMD Sapphire CS:GO Invitational with myDGB.net in December of 2012.
Alongside him was GuardiaN, and in the first match they beat down VeryGames with a 16-12 scoreline. Yes, that VeryGames roster.
His long and storied career on MOUZ and HellRaisers needs no further explanation, but safe to say, by the time of the pandemic his glory days were over. But out little Czech warrior didn’t slow down.
It’s easier for players past thirty to carry on performing when they’re doing it on a cushy tier one salary, like apEX or karrigan. oskar kept up a respectable AWPing standard on teams with low, or very uncertain, salaries - if any at all.
And do you know how? He just didn’t give a f-ck.
This writer was privileged enough to be present in Oslo when oskar played his final HLTV series before retirement, AWPing for Fingers Crossed in a LAN event in Gardermoen, Norway. To his setup every single game he brought a HellRaisers-branded notebook and not one, but two cans of Siberia snus.
Do you know what Siberia is? Every pouch contains about six times as much nicotine as the pouches your average Russian Faceit-warrior will be using. And he brought two cans of those things. Absolute madman.
Unfortunately, it was a 1-2 loss to Polish side Phantom, with our hero only scoring a total of nine frags on the two lost maps.
A whimpering end to a career that went on for longer than anyone would have expected. His longevity is something we have rarely seen before, and might not see again.
We look forward to seeing how long he can make it as a coach.
