At risk of death threats and harmful comments about sexual activities involving our mothers from Polish fans, we’d like to begin this edition’s final story by saying thank fck Snax’s time on G2 has come to an end.

A move that truly never made sense, considering how average he was during his time with GamerLegion. Although they somehow won a couple of trophies with him, his signing was probably the final nail in the coffin for G2 being a true contender organisation in CS for a long time.

Unless it wasn’t.

You might be looking at the headline of this story and be thinking we’re about to say that SunPayus or sAw are the factors that might just be the ones to save G2 in the long term, but even though we’re excited about those signings, we might be even more excited about the man who will complete the roster.

That man, MATYS, has been signed from fnatic in a move that might have underwhelmed many, but we really think those doubters are about to be proven wrong.

Despite having a roster is currently failing on its promise to bring fnatic back to the top, the Slovakian has been a consistently bright spot in an otherwise inconsistent team, and had fnatic actually not bottled making to it to the Major, it’s likely people would have been calling for him to move to a better team anyway.

It might not be as glamorous as the KRL reported dream signing of NertZ, but MATYS can grow into a real star on G2, and it might not even take much growth in order for him to get there.

A raw and exciting player who will only become more refined thanks to exposure to sAw, alongside SunPayus, malbs, and HeavyGod, G2 now have some pretty insane levels of firepower. Enough to at least put up a solid fight against any team they will come up against.

Don’t expect it to be instant, but this is a team that can take G2 back to the top again. Or at least help them lift a trophy or two, which is about as much as anyone can hope for in a world where this Vitality team exists.

A lot will still rest upon huNter-’s ability to transition to the IGL role full-time, but we believe in him and his ability to pull it off.

At least we’ll never have to see him attempt to hold Dust2’s B site with Snax again.

That’s the real win here.
