BLAST Premier Spring Final
NAVI are so back.
So, so back. We were starting to worry that the Major was a bit of a fluke - and maybe it was - but we’re once again believing that NAVI have it in them to be the best team in the world.
The most encouraging part - other than muscling past Astralis and beating FaZe, of course - is that their stars seem to be back in business. b1t scythed through Astralis like a hot knife through butter, or a shark fin through water.
He smelt blood on the Danes and snapped them in half, ripping heads off left and right, before w0nderful and jL stepped up to drop 101 kills combined against FaZe putting NAVI straight into the semi-finals.
Astralis recovered to beat SAW and move through into the quarter-finals, obviously joined by FaZe.
Over in Group B, Virtus.pro’s new look appears to finally be clicking into gear as they took a marquee scalp - Team Vitality. We finally saw a glimpse of what a Virtus.pro team with a top level electronic can look like, and we’re a little worried. For everyone else, that is.
They were joined by Spirit, who had a bit of a wobble against a m0NESY-less G2. They dropped Ancient, but quickly recovered as their three-headed hydra ripped a makeshift G2 apart and sent them to the lower bracket - where they would be reunited with m0NESY.
VP’s elation was short-lived, however, as they found themselves on the end of a donking. Just the 41 kills and 102 ADR for him. The next highest kills in the series was sh1ro, at 25. Enough said.
m0NESY’s comeback seemed to be just in time for G2, but he was powerless to stop Vitality - in fact, apEX was the one who led the charge. The IGL came out all guns blazing to smash G2 on Inferno, and by the time m0NESY had warmed up it was too late, as Vitality took Mirage in first gear.
HooXi went 5-16 on the last map. We bring this up for no particular reason.
